Load Bank Testing

A periodic load bank test is an important element of a comprehensive generator maintenance program, it allows a generator to be run up to its full operating temperature which allows full testing of the engine its cooling system and its output.

Due to the constant operation of some generators under light load or no load conditions, generators may suffer from “wet stacking”. This condition is a build up of fuel deposits on the turbocharger, injector nozzles, combustion chamber, piston rings, and exhaust ports causing a reduction in engine performance. A regular load bank test burns off these accumulated deposits and improves the engines performance.
